The Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech) is a private graduate research institute in Moscow, Russia. Established in 2011 in collaboration with MIT, Skoltech cultivates a new generation of researchers and entrepreneurs, promotes advanced scientific knowledge and fosters innovative technology to address critical issues facing Russia and the world. Skoltech applies the best Russian and international research and educational practices, with particular emphasis on entrepreneurship and innovation. Skoltech’s model leverages on the integration of basic and applied research and education. The Institute’s close link with the industrial and business ecosystem fosters frontier research and generates a flow of innovative solutions for the benefit of the Russian economy.
Ten Centers for Research, Education and Innovation (CREIs) are associated with Skoltech, each residing under one or more of the programs. Each CREI has a thematic research mission carried out through a distributed collaborative research program between Skoltech, international, and Russian institutions, and has both physical and virtual components. Skoltech faculty, staff and students conduct their research under each CREI in new physical laboratories at Skoltech.
Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech) is located in the innovation and technology ecosystem Skolkovo near Moscow. It is a private English language graduate research institute that was established in 2011 in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Skoltech puts particular emphasis on entrepreneurship and innovation. Several Centers for Research, Education and Innovation (CREIs) address critical challenges in Data Science & Artificial Intelligence, Life Sciences and Biomedicine, Cutting-edge Engineering & Advanced Materials, Energy Efficiency, Quantum Technologies, and Advanced Studies.
